 What is the Scribes Customer Area used for?

 
 

The Scribes Customer Area is a secure file management area where we handle your orders. After creating an account (which is free) you can upload your files for printing, descriptions and job notes can also be added to each file which can then be accessed by Scribes staff members. The customer area is also used when we need to delivery files to you (i.e. Soft proofs before large scale jobs go to print). As a member you can login and start uploading your print orders, we are kept fully informed of new uploads and they are automatically added to our workflow and you will be contacted via email or telephone upon there completion.

 
     
 

What retail copy, print and finishing services do you offer and how long do they take?

 
 

Our retail print services include copying, document/file printing, lamination, document/report binding, scanning and faxing. All of these services are offered on a while you wait basis.

 
     
 

Is all the printing and finishing done on site at Scribes Digital?

 
 

No. We have print partnerships agreements in place with 2 of the UK's largest printing companies. Scribes take your artwork, convert it and preflight it ready for print, then our partners take control of the production. Their production facilities are state of the art using the latest offset litho printing presses. When tendering for large contracts with local authorities or blue chip companies, we can arrange factory visits for our clients to ensure them that we a capable of working as a team with our partners to create a smooth workflow for their production requirements. In fact we retail our products at the same prices as our print partners which make us a true team. Other printers are sub contracting work out to european printing businesses and whilst damaging the UK economy there prices are more expensive or on par with ours, its time for the UK to fight back....

 
     
 

What is Pre-Flight and why do I require Scribes Digital to provide this service?

 
 

When setting up artwork using your own PC or even a graphic designer there are always problems that are overlooked, things such as RGB conversion, Font embedding, Bleed Area, Transparency Layers and many many more. We use the industry standard (Enfocus Pitstop Pro) to check for these problems using our partners pre-press profiles, problems can then be rectified or the customer notified that there are problems before printing commences. Only a very small number of high street printers use Pre-flight tools, but we are sure that they are becoming more valuable than ever before with clients using a large array of software packages to set up their artwork. You can trust in Scribes Digital to check you files before they are printed.

 
     
 

 Do Scribes Digital offer templates for designers for the different products that you offer?

 
 

We are currently working on a range of templates and we will publish them to the new site when they are completed.

 
     
 

Is the Scribes Digital website completed, there seem to be columns with missing items?

 
 

The website is still under construction and more content will be added shortly. Due to the amount of telephone call we have received in regards the release of the website we have decided to do a beta version while construction continues in the background.
